Capital/Building Projects & Technology Projects

The SSJCF seeks to support capital and technology projects within one of the Fund's program areas.

Members of the Parish Council at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Congregation, and countless community volunteers transformed a nearly 100-year-old convent into a lively and vital Senior Community Center in Churchtown, Ohio.

... that are a critical component of an organization's efforts to respond to an important community need or to effect needed change.

Therefore, when preparing your proposal, it is important to place your capital/technology project within the broader context of the goals that your organization is working to accomplish at this time.

The SSJCF typically does not provide full funding for large capital or technology projects; therefore, a solid plan for raising additional funds should also be an integral part of a proposal for a large project.

The SSJCF also considers the following factors when reviewing applications for capital/technology projects.

For capital/building projects:

the building is in the service of a greater project/purpose which is highly rated according to our guidelines (collaborative, vulnerable population, appropriate organizations, etc.)

the SSJCF is providing only partial support of a large building project or funding a smaller building project which is but one component of a larger undertaking.

the request to the SSJCF either complements other collaborative efforts or has the potential to leverage other funding for the project.

For technology (computers and peripherals, audio-visual equipment, etc.)

the technology is an integral part of an overall program which itself is highly rated according to our guidelines (collaborative, vulnerable population, appropriate organizations, etc.)

there is a clear and compelling description of how the equipment will be used to achieve the objectives of the programs/project and why such equipment is crucial to the continuation and expansion of the program.

the SSJCF funding either complements other collaborative efforts or has the potential to leverage other funding for the overall project.
